Obituaries

Helen Bienick, age 89, of Los Angeles, California, passed away Saturday, February 5th, at home. Born in Old Forge on May 1, 1921, daughter of the late John and Magdalene Skiba Bienick, Helen was a graduate of Old Forge School High School and prior to her retirement, had worked in banking as a branch manager. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a member of St. Teresa Avila in Los Angeles.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary A. Bienick of Scranton, and Cecile Lombard of Henderson, Nevada.
She was also preceded in death by sisters, Leona Holtz and Sister Conradine; a brother, Ted; and a half-brother, Eddie Bienick.
A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal is scheduled for Monday at 9:30AM in Holy Rosary Church, Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Stephenson Street in Duryea, to be celebrated by Rev. Joseph Elston.
Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery in Old Forge.
