I am so sorry to hear of Irene passing away. I've only known Irene for the past 2 years.She recently worked for Telespond and would come to visit my Aunt twice a week. My Aunt enjoyed the visits with her very much. We kept on hoping Irene would get better so Hilda could see her again. They got along so well. Irene was so pleasant to talk to. She will surely be missed.

I was sadded to hear of Irene's passing, I don't know if you are aware, however for the last 5 years Irene had been a compassionate, caring, loving and giving volunteer for the Senior Companion Program of Telespond. As her coordinator, we would have many talks both in person and on the telephone, perhaps the family is not aware of her volunteering efforts as this was not mentioned in the paper. Irene gave from her heart repeatedly to all her clients, she was a joy to talk to, loved the program and after her falls each time I spoke to her she would say" I'm feeling fine and will be coming back to the program soon" When I heard she had been placed in Allied, I wanted to visit her, however with my busy schedule I did not. I did speak to her once or twice. I know she was failing, I would tell her she had to eat to get some meat on her bones, she was so frail and thin. I will miss this sweet and gentle lady, she always brought a smile to my face when she attended our meetings and would give me a beautiful hug. She is with our Lord now and probably volunteering with the angels. She will always be in my heart. The Senior Companion Program was blessed to have a beautiful person like Irene as a volunteer. Every client she visted loved her, just as I did. My condolences to her family. A memorial contribution will be given in her name to Telespond Senior Services, if anyone else would like to send a memorial contribution, they can send it in Irene's name to Telespond Senior Services, 1200 Saginaw Street, Scranton, Pa. 18505 God Bless her as she enters into the light of God.
