Pauline Marcinko, age 79, of Old Forge, passed away Monday at Mercy Hospital in Scranton. Her husband, John G. Marcinko, died on November 6, 1992. Born in Duryea on October 11, 1931, daughter of the late John and Eva Fedornak Belko, Pauline was a graduate of the former Duryea High School, Class of 1949. Prior to her retirement, she worked at Montage Sportswear in Old Forge. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Duryea.
Remembered as a speedy driver with a lead foot, her favorite pasttimes were fishing and camping with her family and she always enjoyed taking care of the flowers in her garden.
She adored her only grandson, Sean, but with her loving nature, she was a grandmother to many.
She is survived by her daughters, Michele Marcinko-McDonough and husband Tom Hewett of Scranton and Paulette Makovitch and husband David of Moosic, her grandson, Sean McDonough and her two sisters, Irene Marquis of Ocala, Florida, and Amelia Belko of Duryea.
Her four brothers, Michael, John, Ronald and Richard also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will begin on Friday at 8:45AM from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street in Old Forge, with a 9:30AM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Rosary Church, Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 127 Stephenson Street in Duryea, to be celebrated by Rev. Joseph Elston.
Interment, Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Thursday between 4-7:00PM at the funeral home.
