Obituaries

Concetta Vella, 89, a resident of the Taylor Nursing and Rehab. Center., Taylor formerly of Smith St., Old Forge, died Tuesday morning at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton. She was the widow of Leo (Leonard) Vella, who died August 21, 1993.
Born on April 26, 1916 in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Levecchio DeFrancesco. She was educated in the Pittston schools. She was a member of St. Mary’s of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Old Forge. She belonged to the Seradefalco Club, Pittston.
She is survived by her son Leonard Vella and his wife Martha, Bear, Delaware,
a Daughter Phyllis DeLayo and her husband Robert of Old Forge. A brother Angelo DeFrancesco of Pittston Twp.. Three Sisters,
Louise Burgio of Pittston, Pa.
Mary Sciandra, and Angeline Aronica, both of Buffalo, N.Y.
Three grandchildren and four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by three sisters Josephine Recine, Nellie Bellanco, and Pauline Maria.
The funeral will be Friday at
9:00 AM from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge, with mass of christian burial at 9:30AM in St. Mary’s of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Corner of West Grace & Lawrence Sts., Old Forge. Interment will be at Old Forge Cemetery in Old Forge.Friends may call Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00PM.
