Laura Patricia McCabe Weber, age 86, of Susanville, California, and most recently of Gouldsboro, passed away Wednesday morning at her son’s home surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles McCabe, in 1973, and her second husband, George Weber, in 2007. Born in Sanger, CA, on February 20, 1924, daughter of the late Robert and Laura Anderson Nash, Laura was a graduate of Excelsior High School and had sold Stanley Home Products for years. Very active in her church, she was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Susanville. She enjoyed playing games, especially Scrabble, Bingo and Yahtzee. A caring and loving mother, grandmother, relative and friend, she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children; Robert McCabe and wife Linda of Whittier, CA, Patrick McCabe and wife Sharon, with whom she resided, and Cheryl Escalante and husband Mark of Coto de Caza, CA, daughter-in-law Virginia McCabe, five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
A son, Michael McCabe, and a brother, Robert Nash, also preceded her in death.
Private memorial services will be held on Saturday in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
