Obituaries

Aldona T. Melesky, age 85 , of West Scranton, died Saturday morning at home. She was the widow of Bernard Melesky who died January 27, 1986.
Born in Scranton on September 23, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Charles and
Isabelle Peffer. She was educated in West Scranton High School .She was the owner of Bernie’s Tavern, West Scranton. She was also a member of Tauras Club, the Polish Club of North Scranton, and the Ukranian Club. She was a member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, West Scranton.
She is survived by her one son,
Bruce Melesky of the Greenwood, Section of Moosic and one daughter, Susan Patte of West Scranton.Two sisters, Adelphine (Dolly)Reilly of Paramus, N.J. and Ann Stasia Edwards of Laguna Niguel, Calif. 6 grandchildren including Deborah Patte Riccardo, Susan Kahlau, Lisa Tulaney, Tony Patte, and Scott and Eric Melesky. and 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother William Peffer and sisters Josephine Peffer, Julia Magnotta, and Ann Brack.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. from the Durkan-Cuff-Kearney Funeral Home, 125 North Main Avenue, West Scranton with mass of the christian burial at 9:30 A.M. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Main Avenue in North Scranton to be celebrated by Monsignor Peter P. Madus, Pastor. Interment will be at Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 PM.
