Dorothy Brill, age 87, a resident of the Dunmore Health Care Center in Dunmore for the past two months, formerly of West Scranton, died Sunday morning at the Center. She was the widow of Dr. Francis W. Brill who died October 4, 1997.
Born in Simpson on March 19, 1918 she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Tatar Terpak. She was a graduate of the Fell Township High School where she was Salutatorian of her class. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, West Scranton and a member of the church’s Society Of The Faithful. She was also a member of St. Patrick’s choir and its bowling league. She was a member of the Country Club of Scranton and was also a championship golfer at the Hideout Country Club in Hamlin.
She was a member of Cursillo.
She is survived by three sons, Walter Francis Brill of Liverpool, N.Y., Richard Brill of West Scranton, and Michael Brill of Allentown. Five daughters,
Judy Callahan of Bellingham, Mass., Marilyn Manley of Morris Plains, N.J., Bonnie Ludwig of W. Orange, N.J., Mary Beth Mecca of Overland Park, Kan., and Sandy Brill of West Scranton, 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Stephen, Andrew, Anthony, and Peter and three sisters Ann Kohut, Mary Dubill, and Helen Wilk.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. from the Durkan-Cuff-Kearney Funeral Home, 125 North Main Avenue, West Scranton with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Jackson Street in West Scranton to be celebrated by Monsignor David L.
Tressler, Pastor. Interment will be at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.
Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
