Marjorie A. Sheridan, age 80, of West Scranton died Tuesday afternoon at the Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton. She was the widow of James J. Sheridan who died May 29, 1992.
Born in Scranton on July 11, 1924 she was the daughter of the late William and Adeline McPhillips Sheridan. She was a graduate of the former Scranton Technical High School. She was former co-owner of Allegheny Packaging of Swoyersville which she founded with her late husband. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, West Scranton and a member of the Church’s Society Of The Faithful.She was also a member of AARP
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed baking and playing cards.
She is survived by her two Sons,
James Sheridan, Jr. of Dunmore, and Kenneth Sheridan of Scranton.
One Daughter, Catherine A. Sheridan with whom she resided.
Three sisters, Ruth Mazzarella of Somers Point, N.J., Shirley Hummel of Egg Harbor Twp., N.J., and Ann Morese of N.Brunswick, N.J.
Eight grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Brian J., William, and Gerald J. and an infant brother Kenneth and two other brothers Thomas and Joseph.
The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 A.M. from the Durkan-Cuff-Kearney Funeral Home, 125 North Main Avenue, West Scranton with Liturgy of the Word at 10:00 A.M. in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church , Jackson Street in West Scranton. Interment will be at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
