Obituaries

Jane Vanchieri, age 81, a lifelong resident of Taylor, passed away Sunday morning at the Taylor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Alfonso A. Vanchieri who preceded her in death on May 7, 2002. Born in Taylor on May 23, 1928, daughter of the late Anthony and Rosa Szuber Kryzanowski, Jane was a graduate of Taylor High School, Class of 1945. Prior to retirement, she had worked for Riverside High School where she was also the past president of the PTA. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a longtime member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and its Family Society, and she was a current member of St. John the Baptist Church, both of Taylor. She was also a member of the local garment union.
She is survived by her son, Al Vanchieri and his wife Norma Jean of Taylor and her two grandchildren; Anthony and Amber.
She was preceded in death by a brother Frank Kryzanowski and sisters; Betty Balmos and Matilda Kromer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 408 North Main Street in Taylor, to be conducted by Rev. Philip A. Altavilla, former Pastor. Interment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Old Forge. There will be no public viewing.
