Obituaries

Robert Checko, age 68, passed away Thursday morning in Moses Taylor Hospital of complications due to diabetes. Born in Old Forge on October 26, 1940, Robert was the son of the late Dominick and Mae Taylor Checko.
He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn and husband Dr. Bruce Peters, his son, Carl Checko and wife Melissa, four grandchildren; Nicholas, Olivia, Carly, Sahara, cousins, and his longtime caregiver and friend, Barry Taroli.
Funeral services conducted by the Rev. James A. Wert will be held on Monday at noon in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas of Myra Cemetery in Old Forge. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Sunday between 5-8PM at the funeral home.
