Obituaries

Mary Ann Stone, a resident of New Seasons at Clarks Summit and formerly of West Scranton passed away Tuesday morning. Born and raised in West Scranton, daughter of the late Thomas and Nora Doherty Stone, prior to retirement Mary worked as a supervisor for Bell Telephone Business Office of Scranton. She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in West Scranton and the church’s Society of the Faithful. For many years, she had donated her time as a volunteer to the Red Cross of Scranton especially during their blood drives.
She is survived by her brother, Thomas Stone and wife Zita, Scranton, and nephews; T.J. and wife Sheila, Scranton, Chris and wife Joni, Clarks Summit, Jamie and wife Cathy, Chinchilla, and a niece, Mary-Zita and fiance Paul, Scranton, and great nieces and nephews; Nora, Marla, Kara, Rachel, Courtney, Suzie, Maggie, Molly, Thomas and Matthew Stone.
She had a special relationship with each one of her family and will be greatly missed by all.
The funeral will be held on Friday at 9:30AM from the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, West Scranton, with a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick’s RC Church, Jackson Street. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery, Oram Street.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Thursday between 5-8PM at the funeral home.
