Obituaries

John R. Williams, age 94, of the Austin Heights Section of Old Forge passed away Sunday evening at the Taylor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Taylor.
Born in Aberdare, Wales, son of the late Ivor and Margaret Rowlands Williams, John was a graduate of GAR High School, Plymouth, and attended Penn State University. Prior to his retirement, John was an engineer for the Moffat Coal Company. He was of Protestant Faith and a member and former president of the Old Forge Retired Senior Citizens. A loving father, grandfather, relative and friend, he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by two sons;
Ivor Williams, with whom he resided, and Frank Williams of Moscow and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas R. Williams and a brother, Ivor.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge with services by the Rev. James A. Wert.Interment will be at Abington Hills Cemetery in Clarks Summit. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 4-7 P.M.
