Obituaries

Grace McTighe, age 78, of Scranton, passed away Saturday afternoon at the Hospice Community Care in Dunmore.
Born in Scranton on November 20, 1930, daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes Hanlon McTighe, Grace was educated in Scranton Schools.
Prior to her retirement Grace was a school teacher with the Scranton School District, most recently at the former North Scranton Junior High School, where she taught english and history. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, West Scranton, and a member of its Society of the Faithful. She was an avid golfer.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Community Care for all of their care and compassion.
She is survived by her nephews; Kevin McTighe of Freehold, New Jersey, and Tom McTighe of Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina, and her niece, Sheila McTighe of London, England.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas, a sister, Joan McTighe, and a nephew, Timothy McTighe in 2007.
Mass of Christian Burial is Monday at 9:30AM in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, Oram Street, in West Scranton. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery. Relatives and friends may pay their respects to the family at the chapel from 9:00AM until mass time.
