Obituaries

Rosemarie Piazza DelVecchio, 66, of Old Forge, died Friday morning in Mercy Hospital. Her husband is Anthony DelVecchio. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Aug. 3.
Born Feb. 4, 1943, in Swoyersville, daughter of the late John and Connie Iorio Piazza, she settled in Old Forge in 1976. She was educated in Swoyersville schools and was a graduate of Empire Beauty School in Wilkes-Barre. A former self-employed licensed beautician, she was also a caregiver for many years for the late Mary Conon of Old Forge. She was a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Old Forge.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. A beloved friend to many, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Also surviving are a son, Brian DelVecchio and wife, Maryellen, Bloomsburg; two daughters, Lisa Schmidt and husband, Robert, Old Forge; and Lori McNally and husband, Rick, Taylor; two brothers, August Piazza and wife, Corrine, Pittston; and Anthony Piazza and wife, Pam, Jen kins Twp.; and four grandchildren, Ashlyn and Connor McNally, Emily DelVecchio and Riley Schmidt.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Madeline Piazza.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Main Street, Old Forge. Burial, Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
