John J. Hartnett, age 87, a resident of the Dunmore Health Care Center, Dunmore, formerly of 2923 Penman Street in the Minooka Section of Scranton, died Friday morning at the Mercy Hospital in Scranton.
Born in Scranton on December 21, 1917 he was the son of the late James and Catherine Shea Hartnett. He was educated in Minooka Schools.Before his retirement he was employed by the former Sequoit Silk Mill in Scranton.He was a member of Church of St. Joseph, Minooka Section of Scranton.
Surviving are his nieces Mary Hulse of Glenburn and Catherine Demich of Duryea and a nephew Arthur Faulkner of Avoca.
He was preceded in death by a brother Patrick and sisters Mary Faulkner, Catherine Lacava, and Margaret Hartnett.
Graveside service’s will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Minooka Section of Scranton.
Arrangements are being handled by Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
