Obituaries

Claude Bednarz, age 58, of Old Forge, passed away Wednesday morning at Hospice Community Care in Dunmore. Born in Old Forge on September 28, 1950, son of the late Lucian and Josephine Muha Bednarz, Claude had worked as a spotwelder for Hillcrest Shade in Old Forge for over 29 years. Of Roman Catholic faith, he was a member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Old Forge. He enjoyed gardening and walking his dog, “Corky.” An avid sports fan, he loved Nascar and the Oakland Raiders.
Surviving are his three brothers; Lucian Bednarz and wife Maryann, Florian Bednarz and wife Deborah, and Gerald Bednarz and wife Ann Marie, all of Old Forge, nieces and nephews including; Dr. Lucian Bednarz and wife Judie, Betty-Jo Reinhart and husband Jason, Ryan Bednarz and wife Erica, Randy Bednarz and wife Jeanie, Gerald Bednarz, Jr., and wife Yetta, Lea Bednarz, Tracy McHale and husband Atty. Charles, Bruce Scherer and Sharissa Scherer.
The funeral services will be on Saturday at 9:30AM from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge, Pa., with a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Vine Street in Old Forge, to be celebrated by Rev. Louis T. Kaminski, Pastor. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday between 7-9PM at the funeral home.
