Arthur P. Monacelli, of Old Forge, died December 23rd , at Community Medical Center, Scranton after an illness. He and his wife, the former Carmel Killino, were married 51 years in June.
Born in Old Forge, son of the late Primo and Louise Mascolini Monacelli, he was a graduate of Old Forge High School. He served in the Army. Before retiring, he was employed by Sperling Tobacco, Wilkes Barre. He was a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Roman Catholic Church, Old Forge. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy, Old Forge, VFW, Dupont, and was treasurer of the Old Forge Borough Senior Citizens.
His family was his life. He was devoted to his wife and they did everything together. His daughter and granddaughter were the apple of his eye. He was proud of his grandsons and supported them in all their sporting activities. He enjoyed making homemade wine, and playing golf. He was a sincere, compassionate man who put everyones needs before his own.
Surviving are a son Arthur, Jr. and his wife Sally, Old Forge; A daughter Lori Duboski and husband Tony, Clarks Summit. Four grandchildren; Matthew and Mario Monacelli, Vanessa and Anthony Duboski; A sister Albina Ciliberto and husband Albert; A mother-in-law Vera Killino; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Marc Monacelli.
The funeral will be Friday at 11:30 A.M. from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main St., Old Forge with Mass of the Christian Burial at 12:00 noon at St. Lawrence O’Toole Roman Catholic Church, 620 S. Main Street, Old Forge, to be celebrated by Louis T. Kaminski, pastor. Interment will follow at Old Forge Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 5-8PM.
