Robert VanLouvender, age 67, of Mountaintop, and formerly of Moosic and Springbrook, died Sunday as a guest of Beverly Healthcare – East Mountain Manor, Wilkes Barre. Born on December 20, 1939 in Moosic, Robert was the son of the late A. Luxley and Jane Simpson VanLouvender. He attended Moosic Schools. Prior to retirement, he was the owner of Bob-A-Lu’s Bar, Dupont, and worked at the Dupont Powder Mill.

He is also survived by his companion, Jane Noonan, Mountaintop: four sisters; Alice Moore and Lorraine Van Louvender, both of Moosic, Nancy Dommes, Glendale, and Linda Simon with husband, Gerard, Taylor: a brother: Alfred VanLouvender with wife, Diann, Moosic; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11am at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge, celebrated by the Rev. Dr. Susan J. Ezell, Pastor of the Moosic Presbyterian Church, Moosic. Public Visitation will be Tuesday, 5-8pm, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Springbrook Cemetery, Springbrook.
