Obituaries

Margaret "Peggy" Ann Colburn, age 78, of Old Forge, died Sunday evening in the Hospice Unit of the Community Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband John T. Colburn, who died September 12, 1990.
Born on November 12, 1928 in West Clifford she was the daughter of the late Menzo and Ethel Chamberlain Brink, she settled in Old Forge in 1967. Peggy was a graduate of Harford High School. She was formerly employed by Susan Decker’s Magic Years in Moosic where she was affectionately known as "Miss Peg" to the children and her co-workers. She also worked for many years within the garment industry in both Carbondale and Old Forge. She was of the Welsh Congregational faith and belonged to the Bethal Congregational Church in West Clifford.
She is survived by a daughter Jacquelyn Colburn of Dunmore and a granddaughter Dana Colburn and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Charlie, Maxey, and Howard Brink.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 A.M. in the First United Methodist Church, Harrison Street, in Old Forge with services by the Rev. Harriet L. Santos, Pastor. Interment will be at Marcy Cemetery in Duryea.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge.
