Marie Waligora, 73, of Scranton, passed away Wednesday at the Mercy Hospital. She was the widow of Edward Waligora who died in 1990.

Born on May 20, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York, Marie was the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Betty Pfeiffer Geissler. She was educated in Brooklyn Schools .She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Scranton. Before her retirement she was employed as a seamstress for the Slocum Co. and also for the American Bakery, both in Brooklyn, N.Y.
She is survived by her two brothers, Joseph W. Geissler, and wife Mary, Scranton, and Robert M. Geissler, and wife Joann, Littleton, Colorado, and several nieces and nephews including Stacy Smith, Scranton and several great nieces and great nephews. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Norma J. Geissler.

Private funeral services will be conducted on Sunday in the the Durkan-Cuff-Kearney Funeral Home 125 North Main Ave.West Scranton by the Rev. James P. Stevenson. There will be no public viewingInterment will be in Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY. on Monday
