Jean M. Golembeski, 87, of Taylor, passed away Monday evening at the Community Medical Center, Scranton. She was the wife of the late Victor Golembeski who died on January 14, 1967.
Born on February 4, 1920 in Macanacqua , Jean was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Oshnulska Pietruczak. After attending Nanticoke Schools, she worked for the civil service as an inspector with the Army Air Force during WWII. She was the former owner of Jean’s Ideal Dress Shop, and also a seamstress for Irene D’s Dress. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Taylor.
Surviving are: two children, a daughter, Sharon Viglietta and her husband Fran of Harrisburg, and a son, Kenneth Golembeski, Taylor; A sister, Florence Sarnecke, Whitehall; and seven grandchildren Christina and Nicole Viglietta and Carl, Sean, Billy, Kenny, and Danielle Golembeski.
She was also preceded in death by a four siblings: a brother, Charles Pietruczak, and three sisters, Sophie Pietruczak, Wanda Mazziotta, and Jenny Bielawa.
The funeral will be Friday at 9:15 A.M. from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge with mass of the christian burial at 10:00 A.M. in St. John the Baptist RC Church, Main Street in Taylor to be celebrated by the Rev. Francis J. Pauselli, Pastor. Interment will be at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Old Forge. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 P.M.
