Joseph J. Burns, age 60, of Moscow, died Tuesday afternoon, at the Mercy Hospital in Scranton He is survived by his wife Helen Siglin Burns.They celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary on November 27th.
Born in Scranton on November 21, 1944 he was the son of the late Robert E. Burns, Sr. and Mary Kapacs Burns, of Scranton.He was a 1962 graduate of Scranton Technical High School and also finished from the Cleveland Institute of Electronics.
He was formerly employed by Automated Components of Dunmore. He was a member of St. Eulalia’s Roman Catholic Church, Elmhurst.
He was an avid camper and fisherman. He enjoyed woodworking and working with his hands. He loved his dog "Bently".
Also surviving are three daughters, Debra Betti and her husband Scott of Brandonton, Fla., Denise Runco of Jessup, and
Dawn Mitchell of Blakely.
Two Brothers,
Richard Burns of Madison Township and Robert E. Burns, Jr. of Lancaster. 5 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral will be Friday at 8:45 A.M. from the Durkan-Cuff-Kearney Funeral Home, 125 N.Main Ave., West Scranton with mass of the christian burial at 9:30 A.M. in St. Eulalia’s Roman Catholic Church , Elmhurst to be celebrated by the
Rev. John V. Polednak, Pastor.Cremation will follow in the Maple Hill at Salem Crematory in Archbald.Friends may call on Thursday from 5-8 P.M.
