Rhea M. Hull, age 87 and a longtime Moosic resident, passed away Tuesday morning at Oak Ridge Health Care Center in Taylor where she had been a guest for three years.
Born in Avoca on May 11, 1936, Rhea was the daughter of the late Delbert Hull and Harriet (Legg) Brown. She attended both Avoca and Moosic schools before studying at the former Eastern Bible Institute, a bible college located in Green Lane. For decades, she worked for SCHOTT Optical in Duryea prior to her retirement.
Rhea was a woman of great faith. She was a devoted member of the Moosic Assembly of God congregation where she volunteered in multiple ways. From serving as Sunday school teacher to facilitating donations to the church’s food bank, Rhea’s selfless nature was always evident. She was always willing to help out anyone in need. Later in life, she achieved a Bucket List accomplishment by traveling to Israel and exploring The Holy Land.
Rhea touched the lives of many throughout her life and will certainly never be forgotten by her family and countless friends.
Rhea is survived by siblings, Leslie Brown and wife Sally of Old Forge and Ellen Chubb of Moosic; her sister-in-law, Mary Brown of Dupont; many nieces and nephews, including her dear niece and caretaker, Donna Edwards of Old Forge; and Donna’s beloved pup “Minnie” who Rhea adored.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Philip Hull, Anna Simmons, Delbert Hull, Lorna Edwards, Harold Brown, and Linda Brown.
Her family would like to acknowledge and thank the entire staff of Oak Ridge Health Care Center for three years of care and compassion.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 10:00 AM in the Moosic Assembly of God Church, 477 N. Third Street in Moosic, to be celebrated by Pastor Rev. Joseph Bachman. Burial will follow at Marcy Cemetery in Duryea.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday between 4-7:00 PM at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main Street in Old Forge.
Memorial contributions may be made in Rhea’s name to her church, Moosic A.O.G. c/o 477 N. Third St., Moosic Pa. 18507.
