Robert J. Chamoni, age 77, a resident of the Lebanon VA Medical Center in Lebanon, formerly of Scranton, died Wednesday morning at the center.
Born on June 20, 1929 in Scranton, he was the son of the late Ferdinand and Marie Felton Chamoni. He was a graduate of Scranton Tech High School. He was a career serviceman with the U.S. Army Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was also a member of the Army Air Force Band.
He is survived by his sister, Eleanor Weisenfluh and husband, Robert, of Erie, sister-in-law, Catherine Chamoni, Scranton, nieces and nephews, including Patrick Lally, Oakton, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Peoples and Elizabeth Langan and a brother, Ferdinand Chamoni.

A blessing service will be held on Monday at 1:00PM in St. Catherine’s Cemetery Chapel Rt. 435, Moscow. Interment will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow. Arrangements are under the care of the Durkan-Cuff-Kearney Funeral Home, 125 N. Main Avenue, West Scranton.
Military services will be conducted by the AMVETS Post 189, Dupont.
