Eleanor Caroline Taylor, age 82, a resident of the Taylor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Taylor died Tuesday evening at the Center. She was the widow of Edward W. (Ted) Taylor who died January 25, 1998.They would have celebated their 50th wedding anniversary in March 1998.
Born in Taylor on June 22, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Warner C. and Augusta Schaffer Zumbach. She was a graduate of Taylor High School. For many years she taught ceramic classes in her home studio.She was a member of Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church, Old Forge.
She is survived by her two daughters;Lynn Taylor and her husband Charles Desrosiers of Ambler, Pa. and Diane Gavin and her husband Michael of Taylor.
Also surviving are two grandsons; Steve Gavin, a student at the University of Pennnsylvania in Philadelphia and Scott Gavin, a senior at Riverside High School and two brothers;Carl Zumbach and his wife Helen of Waynesboro, Va.and George Zumbach of Taylor. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by a brother Warner.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Reverend James A. Wert and the congregation of the Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church for their prayers, visits, and gifts. Also a sincere thank you to the 3rd floor staff of the Taylor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their kind and compassionate care.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, with services by the Rev. James A. Wert, Pastor of the Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church, Old Forge. Interment will be at Milwaukee Cemetery in Ransom.Friends may call Friday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
