Thomas J. Robbins, 65, of Moosic, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 11th, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Sarah Wilbur and Thomas J. Robbins Sr., he served in the U.S. Army for four years where he was a Bomb Expert prior to his honorable discharge. Once completing his contract, he worked as a truck driver for Weis Markets and Dupont Motor Lines for many years.
He was a kind-hearted, caring, and family oriented person who never failed to provide for his family. In Thomas’ spare time, he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, being outdoors, having cookouts, and sitting outside watching thunderstorms. Although he was taken from his loved ones too soon, his life was well-lived with special moments surrounded by his friends and family.
Thomas will be sadly missed by his ten children; Thomas, III and wife Emily, Todd, Cory, Tony, Chris, Aaron, Dana, Alisha, Sarah and Seth Robbins; devoted wife, Ruth (Lewis) Robbins; former wife, Penny Robbins; many grandchildren and nieces and nephews whom he adored; and six siblings, Kenny Lilly, Alice Murphy, Sally Ann Maconeghy, Ray Robbins, Ted Robbins, and Sam Robbins.
He was also predeceased by his two sisters, Betty Lou Fuller and Debbie Dixon.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge. Burial with military honors by the AMVETS Honor Guard will follow at Madison Union Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday between 4-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
