Obituaries

Elizabeth M. (Betty) Collins, age 81, of Moosic, passed away Saturday morning at home. Her beloved husband, George Collins, preceded her in death.
Born in West Pittston on March 30, 1937, and the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Fenton Leyshon, Betty was educated at the former Duryea High School. Formerly of Trainer, Pa., she was a member of St. John’s P.M. Church.
She enjoyed crocheting, crafting and ceramics, and whether it be decorating or making her own ornaments, she absolutely loved the Christmas season. A loving sister, aunt, and friend, she will be missed.
She is survived by four sisters, Lorraine Collins of Avoca, Caroline Sigler of SC, Mary Cox and husband Ed of Scranton and Joyce Leyshon of Moosic; and many nieces and nephews. Also preceding her in death are her siblings, Edward and Thomas Leyshon and Shirley Sokolowski, on November 13th.
Her family wishes to acknowledge the entire staff of Traditional Home Health Hospice as well as Dr. Michael Jalowiec for their care, compassion and kindness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 28th, at 11:00AM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Burial will follow at Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 10:00AM until services.
