Joseph Mazaleski, age 71, of Hanover, formerly of Sampson Street in Old Forge, died Monday evening at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center in Hanover.
Born in Scranton on March 19, 1935 he was the son of the late Leonard and Mary Kozuszko Mazaleski.He was a graduate of the former St. Michael’s grade School in Old Forge and also a graduate of Old Forge High School.He graduated from the University of Scranton with a Bachelor of Science Degree and attended the Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.
He was employed by the Department of Argiculture in Maryland and the State Health Labs in Maryland as a Medical Laboratory Technician.He was a member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Old Forge. He was also a member of The American Accordionist Association
and served in the US Army.
He was also preceded in death by a sister Marguerite Ann Mazaleski.
There are no immediate survivors.
A mass of the christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church , Vine Street in Old Forge by Rev. Joseph M. Brozena, Pastor. Interment will be in Sacred Hearts Cemetery in South Scranton.
Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge.
