Rose M. Dockett, age 71, of Duryea, died Wednesday at the Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia after a 1 1/2 year courageous battle with pulmonary artery hypertension.
She was the widow of Walter Dockett. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 4, 2006.
Born in Dupont on March 7, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William and Myrtle Griffith Houston, she settled in Duryea 17 years ago.She was educated in Dupont Schools. She was formerly employed by local dress factories.
She dedicated her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren, all of whom she was proud and thought the world of. The family would like to extend their greatest gratitude to Doctors Michele Hazzouri, Kenneth Jacobs, and Samir Pancholy and also to the Caring Voice Coalition.
Surviving are one son, Richard Dockett of Duryea and two daughters, Debra Green of Moosic and Judy Yedesko of Duryea.
One brother, Earl Houston of Avoca and one sister, Betty Cimini of Avoca.Three grandchildren, Tiffany Green, Jeremy Yedesko, and John Green and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother Richard and a sister Doreen Stassi.
The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 A.M. in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge with services by the Rev. Nathan D. King, Pastor of the Moosic Alliance Church in Moosic. Interment will be at Marcy Cemetery in Duryea. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
