Agatha Shinsky, age 87, of Scranton, died Friday morning at the Moses Taylor Hospital.
Born in Scranton on October 13, 1918 she was the daughter of the late Joseph Andrukaitis and the late Anna Makauskas Roba.
She was educated in St. Joseph’s Grade School in North Scranton and also the North Scranton Junior High School. She worked for Telespond and also for the Mayflower Manufacturing. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, North Scranton.
She was a very hard worker and also enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Beverly Health Care Center for their wonderful care and love they gave her.
She is survived by her one daughter, Carol Duffy of West Scranton and two sons, Joseph Shinsky, at home and Robert Shinsky of Palm Harbor, Fla.
Two brothers, Tony Roba of Philadelphia and Leonard Roba of Lakewood, Ohio.Two sisters,
Marion Hunter of Ohio and Helen Kapcala of Scranton. Six grandchildren, Robert and Tanya Shinsky and Greg, George, Jr., Kevin and Danny Duffy and Seven great-grandchildren, Connor, Mackenzie, Emily, Kevin, Andrew, Georgie, and Samantha Duffy.
She was preceded in death by her step-father Andrew Roba and a sister Carolyn Braun.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 8:30 A.M. from the Durkan-Cuff-Kearney Funeral Home, 125 N. Main Avenue, West Scranton with mass of the Christian Burial at 9:00 A.M. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church by Monsignor Peter P. Madus, Pastor. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery.Friends may call Monday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
