Herman (Hermie) Leslie Tinklepaugh, Jr., age 77, of Duryea, died Friday, November 25th, at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria, Ohio, while visiting family.
Born in Scranton on March 11, 1939, Hermie was the son of the late Herman, Sr., and Barbara Hall Tinklepaugh. He earned an Accounting Degree from the former Wilkes Barre Business School, before opening Hermie’s Garage, which he owned and operated until his retirement. He was also a longtime member of the former Duryea Alliance Church.
An avid hunter and gun collector, his greatest passion was restoring pre-1950 Jeeps. His Jeeps were often on display at various car shows, regularly winning awards for their pristine condition. Passing away unexpectedly, he will forever be missed by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother, sisters and many friends.
Sisters, Barbara Joan Dennis and an infant, Barbara, also preceded him in death.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, December 10th, at 2:00PM at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Respects may be paid to the family from 1:00PM until services. Private interment, Marcy Cemetery, Duryea.
