George D. Strazik, age 57, of Old Forge, died Wednesday morning at the Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton.His wife is Adeline Corradino Strazik.They had celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on November 14, 2005.
Born on June 10, 1948 in Old Forge, he was the son of the late George A. and Margaret Piller Strazik.He was a graduate of Old Forge High School Class of 1966 and also of Penn State University Class of 1969. He was self employed in sales for Andec, of Canada, Thermo Electron, of Germany, and Shape Tech, of England. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Old Forge. He was also a member of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers, an associate member of the Institute of Roll Design, a member of the Iron and Steel Society and was a member of additional steel organizations.He was also the secretary of the Globe Trotters Steel organization.
He is also survived by his
daughter, Krystal Strazik of Laurel, Md., a son, Ryan Strazik of San Diego, Calif., and a sister,
JoAnn Pidich of Lake Ariel, an uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9:00 A.M. from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge, with a mass of christian burial at 9:30 A.M. in St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, corner of West Grace & Lawrence Sts, Old Forge, by Rev. Joseph F. Cipriano, Pastor. Interment will be at Old Forge Cemetery in Old Forge.
