Marlene Yarema Milewski, age 82, of Springbrook Twp., died Sunday evening at Riverside Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Taylor. She is survived by her beloved husband, Leonard (Lenny) Milewski. Married on September 25, 1971, the couple celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary earlier this year.
Born in Old Forge on November 17, 1932, daughter of the late Jack and Sophia Rychleski Yarema, Marlene was a graduate of Old Forge High School, Class of 1952. A former inspector for General Electric, she retired in the clerical department of Emery Air Freight. A longtime member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Old Forge before its closing, she was a current member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Dupont. An avid collector, she loved her snow bunnies, Snowbabies, and most recently, Mickey Mouse collectibles. A dog lover, she adored “her boys”, Jacob and Jay. She will be forever missed by all of those who love her.
She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Margaret Milewski of Dupont; and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
A sister, Theo Scurjonis, also preceded her in death.
Lenny wishes to thank both Dr. Guy Fasciana as well as all of the nurses and aides of Riverside Nursing for the care and compassion given to Marlene during her stay with them.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Avenue in Dupont, to be celebrated by Rev. Joseph D, Verespy, Pastor. Interment will follow at the Cathedral Cemetery. Those attending the funeral, please go directly to the church.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday at the church from 9:30AM until Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marlene ‘s name to Sacred Heart’s Church Restoration Fund, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont, Pa., 18641.
