Eloise M. Gazda, age 92, of Moosic, died Tuesday at Celtic Community Care Hospice Inpatient Unit in Dunmore. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eddie T. Gazda, on February 22, 1981. Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late John and Mildred Belles King, Eloise was a graduate of the former Taylor High School, Class of 1939. She was a longtime devoted member of St. Stanislaus Polish National Cathedral in South Scranton. Caring, generous and thoughtful, Eloise was an excellent baker who enjoyed sharing her recipes with everyone. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her two sons, Bob Gazda of Moosic and John Gazda of Syracuse, New York; five grandchildren, Eddie, Jason, Megan, Britain and Dawn; six great-grandchildren, Andrew, Declan, Britain Faye, Zachary, Brianna and Heidi; and many nieces and nephews.
A son, Thomas Gazda; and brothers, Robert and John King, also preceded her in death.
A Blessing Service to be conducted by Father Senior William Chromey is schedule for Thursday, December 19th, at 7:00PM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday between 5:00PM and services. Interment, St. Stanislaus Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eloise’s name to Celtic Community Care Hospice’s Memorial Fund, 100 William Street in Dunmore, 18512.
