Judy A. James, a lifelong resident of Taylor, died Sunday morning at The Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania in Scranton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William E. James, on September 17, 1996. Born in Taylor on Valentine’s Day, daughter of the late Peter and Adella Davidowski Godlewski, Judy was educated in Taylor Schools. She was a longtime member of the Baptist Tabernacle Church of Taylor. A proud member of the I.L.G.W.U., Judy worked for both Dutchess and Lennie Lee Manufacturers of Old Forge prior to her retirement. She is survived by her loving sister, Helen J. Smith of Scranton; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews; and great grandnieces and great grandnephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Kalinich; and brothers, Tony, Chester, Frank, Michael, John, Ray and Henry Godlewski.
Her sister would like to thank the second floor staff of The Jewish Home, as well as Doctors Steven B. Eisner and Maryann McDonald, for the tremendous care they collectively gave to Judy.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at 10:00AM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, to be conducted by Rev. Thomas Sica, Pastor of the Open Door Baptist Church in Scranton. Interment follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Park in Dallas.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday between 5-8:00PM at the funeral home.
