Barbara Rachael Jones, age 58, a lifelong resident of Exeter, passed away Saturday at Geisinger South Hospital in Wilkes Barre. She is survived by her husband, Howard Jones. The couple recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on October 1st. She is also survived by her son, Kenny Jones of Exeter; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Born on August 26, 1955, daughter of the late Joseph and Gilda Maffei Stefanko, Barbara was a graduate of Wyoming Area High School, Class of 1973. Prior to her illness, she worked as a billing clerk for Specialty Products in Wilkes Barre. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a member of St. Barbara’s Parish in Exeter. An excellent cook, Barbara was also an animal lover who adored her dogs. Family oriented, she was a loving wife, mother, niece, relative and friend who will be forever missed.
Her family would like to acknowledge the staffs of Geisinger – Wyoming Valley’s ER and ICU for the excellent care given to Barbara.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday at 11:00AM in St. Barbara’s Parish, 28 Memorial Drive in Exeter, to be celebrated by Rev. Louis Grippi. Interment, private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s name to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA, 98612.
