Obituaries

Norman McLean, age 63, of Scranton, died Friday morning at home after an illness. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bertha Radcliffe McLean. Together for over 42 years, the couple married on July 8, 1986. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 20, 1950, son of the late Harold and Oneta Spain McLean, Norman was a lifelong contractor. A painter by trade and a former member of the District Council 9 of the International Union of Painters, Norman was a dedicated worker who took great pride in his work. A friendly and fun-loving man who will be forever missed, he passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
He is also survived by his children, Norman, Jr., of Long Island, N.Y., Daniel of Scranton, Katrina of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Zanetra of Scranton; two brothers; four sisters; seven grandchildren whom he adored, Destiny, J’Sean, Donte, Zayvion, Jaylen, Zamya and Zakiyah; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a daughter-in-law, Chundalous McLean; two step-grandchildren, Jalen and Justice; and a Goddaughter, Stacy Depp.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at 5:00PM in the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton, to be conducted by Rev. Arthur Harshman. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 3:00PM until services. Interment will be private.
