Obituaries

Edward J. Bedford, age 59, of Dupont, formerly of Avoca, died Tuesday evening at the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre.
Born May 14, 1946 in Avoca, he was the son of the late Ernest R. and Viola Powell Bedford. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Wilmington High School, Delaware. He was employed by the Iron Skillet Restaurant, Dupont.
He was a beloved brother and uncle, known to many as "Uncle Ed", he will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sister, Thelma Trygar of Mt. Cobb,
two brothers, R. Richard Bedford of New Castle, Del.and Harold L. Bedford of Tampa, Fla., his caregiver, Betty Ann Chmiel and her husband David, with whom he resided. Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Norita L. D’Andrea and a nephew Steven Trygar.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family in Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst.
Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge.
