Obituaries

Doris Jean Miskar, age 85, a resident of Mountain View Care Center in Scranton, passed away Friday morning. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Miskar, Jr., on August 13, 1969. Born in Paterson, New Jersey, on April 11, 1927, daughter of the late Helen Elizabeth Thissen and Raymond Newman, Doris was a family-oriented woman who spent much of her life raising her adoring family.
She is survived by her children, daughters, Ruth Ann Belcavitch and husband Joseph of Old Forge, Mona Lisa Baum and husband Gill of Highland Lake, N.J., and Nancy Miskar of Nutley, N.J.; and sons, George Miskar of Pequannock, N.J., and Frank Miskar and wife Marybeth of Hamburg, N.J., thirteen grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death was a son, David Miskar.
Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Services and interment will be conducted on Monday at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa, N.J.
Her family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Mountain View Care Center for the amazing care and love given to Doris during her stay.
