Obituaries

Joseph A. (Nuckey) Casella, age 60 and a lifelong resident of Old Forge, died Thursday. Born on January 31, 1952, son of the late Fiore and Gloria Curl Casella, Joseph was a graduate of Old Forge High School, Class of 1969, before attending Lackawanna Junior College in Scranton. An avid sports fan, he loved both the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies. A gentle soul with an unmatched sense of generosity, he will be forever missed.
Of Roman Catholic faith, he was a member of Prince of Peace Parish in Old Forge.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Fiore Casella of Lawrence; his brother, James Casella, with whom he resided; two sisters, Gail Giannone and husband Guy of Taylor and twin sister, Rose Mary Ciamillo and husband Harold of Verona, New Jersey; his former wife, Joann Stallone Casella of Old Forge; and many nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death was his beloved brother, Brian Williams.
Blessing services are scheduled for Tuesday at 10:00AM at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street in Old Forge, to be conducted by Rev. Louis T. Kaminski. Interment, Old Forge Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Monday between 5-8:00PM at the funeral home.
