Along with her husband, Lenore collaborated to author “One for the Gipper,” the definitive biography of the famous “Gipper” of Notre Dame, the young George Gipp, a football player struck down in his prime at the age of 25. With Lenore’s passion for books, she enjoyed a career as a Librarian. Lenore finished her dedication for Literature at the Albright Memorial Library.
Lenore enjoyed traveling, crosswords, 40’s music and reading anything on Abraham Lincoln. A loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, she will be forever missed and always remembered. Lenore, an angel on earth and now watching over us, devoted herself to praying for those she loved and those in need.
She is survived by her loving son, Patrick W. Chelland, Jr., with whom she resided; who devoted his life to her with great love, respect and admiration; her step-daughter, Rochelle Ferraro Coxe, who loved her dearly and feels blessed to always carry a part of her with her throughout life; her sister, Marilyn of Temecula, California, with whom she shared a special bond and stayed so near and dear to her heart and always in her thoughts and prayers, along with several nieces and nephews.
A heartfelt thank you to an admirable man, cousin, George Chelland, who without fail was there to listen, assist and help Lenore and her family when they were in need of healthcare and guidance.
Her family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to both Dr. Phillip Boccagno and Dr. Mark McGurrin for their exceptional care, understanding and compassion. Lenore had always praised their empathy and expertise.
