Obituaries

Jennie Clara “Penny” (O’Dell) Sansky, age 52, of the Minooka section of Scranton, passed away Wednesday evening under VNA Hospice Care at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, William Sansky. Born in Johnson City, New York, on August 11, 1960, daughter of the late Charles and Jennie John O’Dell, Penny worked for Gertrude Hawk Chocolate Company of Dunmore for over 12 years. An avid gardener who loved her flowers, she was also a fan of anything Harry Potter-related. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
She is also survived by her son, Chuck O’Dell and wife Bridget, and her grandson, Chase O’Dell, all of Scranton; her sister, Cherri Mundy and husband Eddie of Chester, New York; her two brothers, James O’Dell and wife Patricia of Factoryville and Donald O’Dell and wife Diane of Mountaindale, N.Y.; her beloved uncle, Arthur O’Dell, with whom she resided; 21 nieces and nephews; and 26 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Also preceding in death were brothers, Wayne and Clarence O’Dell.
Memorial services are scheduled for Sunday, September 9th, at 3:00PM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Relatives and friends may pay their respects to her family from 1-3:00PM at the funeral home prior to her services.
