Obituaries

Joan Catherine Noto, a resident of West Scranton and formerly of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully Sunday evening at home. Her beloved husband of 55 years, Ralph Noto, died on March 27, 2010. Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Thomas, Sr., and Elenor Knight Farrell, Joan was a graduate of West Scranton High School. Upon her graduation, she pursued a career as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone, Erie Lackawanna Railroad, and the U.S. Hoffman Plant (now Chamberlin). She left her career to pursue her greatest passion which was to be a wonderful and loving mother and wife. She always took great pride in being involved with her family.
Her happiest times were those spent with her family. She will be greatly missed by friends and family, both in Scranton and Delray Beach.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael Ralph Noto and wife Lisa of Waverly, and Thomas Ralph Noto of New York, New York; here two grandsons, Michael and Andrew Noto of Waverly; her devoted and loving sister, Helen Lynott; and her sister-in-law, Theresa Farrell, both of Scranton.
Her brother, Thomas Farrell, Jr., preceded her in death.
Funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 9:30AM from the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, West Scranton, with a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, Oram Street. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday between 4-8:00PM at the funeral home.
