Obituaries

Jane L. Haschak, age 81, of Old Forge, passed away Thursday morning at home after an illness. She is survived by her beloved husband, Stephen M. Haschak. The couple would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on September 15th. Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Alex and Catherine Teretsky and step-father, Adam Simonovitch, Jane was a graduate of Dunmore High School. Throughout the years, she resided with her family in Denver, Lancaster County; Montoursville; and most recently, Old Forge. Of Byzantine Catholic faith, she was a devoted member of St. Nicholas of Myra Church in Old Forge. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her.
She is also survived by two daughters, Linda McHugh and husband Tim of Scranton, and Laura Norod and husband David of Clifton, Virginia; a granddaughter, Leah; a grandson, Stephen; and a brother, Nicholas Terrace of Dunmore.
Sisters, Mary, Rose and Olga also preceded her in death.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin on Tuesday with 9:00AM Panachida in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, with a 10:00AM Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church, 140 Church Street, Old Forge, with the Rev. Gary Mensinger, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Old Forge.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Monday between 5-8:00PM at the funeral home. Parastas will be held at 7:30PM.
