Philip A. Scotch, age 97 and a longtime Old Forge resident, passed away on March 12th at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes Barre.
Born on February 7, 1927 and raised in Old Forge, Philip was the son of the late Charles and Parma (Fabiano) Scaccia. He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and eventually retired as a U.S. Naval Reservist. He was a management analysis for the Naval Supply Company in Mechanicsburg. He was also a lifelong member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Prince of Peace Parish, in Old Forge.
Survived by cousins and friends, Phil was the last of his siblings. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Carmella, Bertha and Mary; and a brother, George.
A blessing service by Rev. August A. Ricciardi and burial at Old Forge Cemetery was private. Arrangements have been under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge.
