George Glenn Smith, 83, a longtime resident of Old Forge, and currently of Clarks Summit, died Sunday evening at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre.
Born December 11, 1939 in Old Forge, son of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Corcoran Smith, Glenn was a graduate of Old Forge High School. Prior to his retirement, Glenn was employed by Signature Building Systems. A former member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Old Forge prior to its closure, he was a current parishioner of Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit.
Glenn’s true passion in life was Ballroom dancing, but you can still find him on PBS reruns of PA Polka. His love of dancing and especially his family were undying. He became the unofficial “social director” of Bedford Tower Apartment, running dinner groups and bingo events. He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all..
Surviving are several nieces and nephews and a cousin.
Two brothers, Raymond and William Wayne Smith, and his longtime companion, Arlene Zablotsky, preceded him in death.
A private graveside inurnment will be held at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
