Catherine E. Riddle, age 67, of Taylor, passed away Tuesday morning at home, after an illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert (Bob) Riddle, on April 15, 2016.
Born in Niagra Falls, New York, on November 12, 1948, daughter of the late James, Sr., and Margaret (Peggy) Healey Best, Catherine was educated in New Jersey Schools before attending the former Northeast High School in Duryea. She worked for several local businesses, before retiring from Pride Mobility in 2008. An avid animal lover, she adored her pets. A loving mother, sister, relative and friends, she will be forever missed.
She is survived by her son, Richard Milazzo, Jr. of Old Forge; sisters, Margaret (Peggy) Best of Old Forge and Barbara Kause of Pittston; and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Brian Milazzo; and a brother, James Best, Jr.
Her family would like to thank the entire staffs of Visiting Nurses Association Home Hospice; and Geisinger Medical Centers, Plains and Danville, respectively, for the tremendous care given to Catherine throughout her illness.
A blessing service by Rev. August A. Ricciardi, Prince of Peace Parish Pastor, is scheduled for Friday at 10:00AM at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Interment will follow at the Marcy Cemetery, Duryea. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday between 4-7:00PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Catherine’s name to VNA Hospice and Home Health, 301 Delaware Avenue, Olyphant, Pa., 18447.
