Frank I. Jordan, 96, formerly of Taylor, passed away peacefully at The Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania, Tuesday, December 15th. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Emelia Nowakowski Jordan, on June 6, 1994.
Born in Taylor, on May 17, 1919, he was the son of the late Frank and May Elizabeth Heydon Jordan. Frank was known for his ability to fix anything. He had a zest for life and always enjoyed spending holidays and parties with his family. He had a fantastic sense of humor and always enjoyed a good joke.
He is survived by his four children, a son, Frank Jordan, Jr., and wife Beverly of Dunmore, and daughters, Carol Aulisio and husband George of Taylor, Mary Ann Wells and husband Tom of Moosic, and Joanne Tedechi and husband Vince of Charleston, South Carolina; 9 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were brothers, George and Martin Jordan; sisters, Elizabeth Kepich and Clistis Jordan; and a grandson, John Jordan, on July 5, 2007.
Private services will be conducted at Fairview Memorial Park Chapel with interment to follow.
His family would like to thank both The Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania, especially the 4th floor staff, and Celtic Hospice, for their care, kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Frank’s name to Bethel AME Church’s Homeless Shelter Account, care of People’s Security Bank, 420 Davis St., Scranton, Pa., 18505. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
