Faye Turley, age 68, of West Scranton, passed away Tuesday evening at the home of her son in Lester, Pa., after an illness.
Born in Scranton on December 8, 1946, and daughter of the late Arthur “Red” and Margaret “Peg” Griffiths Royce, Faye was educated at West Scranton High School. Prior to her becoming ill, for many years she worked as a short order cook at Keystone Restaurant in West Scranton. She also attended the Trinity Congregational Church. Faye loved Penn State Nittany Lion football, especially former Lion Quarterback, Matt McGloin. Loving and caring, Faye was taken from her family and friends much too soon. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Scott Middlekauff and fiance Kathy McGovern of Lester, Ronda Beemer and husband David of Clarks Green, Jason Turley of East Benton and Jonathan Turley of Scranton; sisters, Dorothy Bucher and husband Jon of Greeley and Ruth Harris of Dunmore; eight grandchildren, Keira, Brooke, Brett, Morgan, Bentley, Britney, Mathew and Caitlin; former husband, Ron Turley of East Benton; and many nieces and nephews.
A son, Justin Turley; siblings, Walford Harold Royce and Mae Frankowski; and former husband, Ronald Middlekauff, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 10:00AM in the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton. Interment will follow at Abington Hills Cemetery, Clarks Summit. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday between 4-7:00PM at the funeral home.
