Katherine (Kathy) L. Engvaldsen, age 63, of North Scranton, passed away Friday at Allied Skilled Nursing Center in Scranton after a long illness.
She was born in Hawley on November 9, 1951 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Leshinski. Kathy was a 1969 graduate of Lake Wallenpaupack High School. Of Roman Catholic faith, she attended Mary, Mother of God Parish in Scranton. She loved the outdoors and working in her flower gardens. She is survived by her sons, Shawn Engvaldsen of Scranton and Nicholas Leshinski of Pittsburgh; her brother, Ron Leshinski and wife Judy of Londonderry, New Hampshire; and three grandchildren.
A daughter, Melissa Engvaldsen, and her former husband, Carl Engvaldsen preceded her in death.
Her family wishes to thank the entire staff of both Allied Skilled Nursing and Advocacy Alliance for the years of tremendous care given to Kathy.
Blessing services are scheduled for Thursday, July 2nd at 7:00pm in the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton to be conducted by Rev. Martin Gaiardo, Associate Pastor of Mary, Mother of God Parish. Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 5:00pm until services.
